Why do we need Artists?
They lead us into a cultural commons. They help us hear the stories.
Without them we just have information. In the beginning is the listening.
Our history is told as a collective tale, with countless heritages, stories, aspirations, and capacities weaving the tapestry that is our cultural commons.
To underpin lasting change, we need artists and other creators of culture who can elicit and link many different stories into those that create possibility rather than foreclose it.
