A Short Film
A special thanks to Trent Gillis, Senior Editor for On Being, for sharing this video and for his many blog posts in On Being.
It is said that Jesus was a carpenter. I wonder if he made coffins.
My friend wants to be cremated and I understand his desire.
But I can also understand the desire to lie in wood and be carried by others to a grave.
And I would like to carry others, too.
Aren't we meant to carry each other?
Isn't death a doorway to the stars?
Is there just a little more space in the ground for me? For you?
Aren't we grateful to coffinmakers?
