Gratitude After a Heart Attack
Spreading Peace after a Stroke
Many people in the world suffer from heart attacks and strokes. Sometimes the experiences provide a springboard for new ways of living: we are more grateful for each passing day and more in touch with enduring values, such as spreading peace in the world. In the language of process theology we are creatively transformed into special kinds of goodness. Somehow, with help from loved ones and the spirit of life -- dare we say love -- the waters of sorrow become the taste of new wine. Many in the JJB community speak of this spirit as God. Choose whatever name is best for you. We offer two stories which illustrate this kind of transformation: one by Jill Bolte Taylor and one by Les Muray. We hope you enjoy them.
