The Fish People and Modernity
What's Life all About, Anyway?
The Fish People of the Amur is a video created by an undergraduate student from China, Marcus Zhu. It presents a people in Northeast China who are losing their language and traditions. This is Marcus Zhu's first attempt to create a documentary. We think you will like it. He attends Hendrix College in the United States.
What is Life About, Anyway? is a cross-cultural conversation concerning modernity, individualism, and vocation. It features three students at Hendrix College: Vivian Dong (JJB webmaster), Cassie Zhang, and Thomas Holt. They are responding to Zhu's documentary.
These two videos can be viewed separately or together. We hope they might be helpful in classrooms, coffee shops, churches, and living rooms on both sides of the ocean.
